A clawback is a contractual provision that grants an organization the right to recover previously disbursed compensation from an employee. This provision is typically invoked under defined circumstances, such as misconduct, violation of company policies, or the correction of inaccurate financial results that affected the basis on which the compensation was awarded.
Mesh offers a few clawback utilities to help finance teams enforce compliance, recover funds, and ensure every expense is properly accounted for.
Note: The configuration of the capabilities listed in items 1, 2, and 3 is managed under Company Settings >> Cards and Budgets.
- Automatically suspend cards if required transaction details (e.g., receipts, spend categories, or memos) are missing for X days.
- Automatically route outstanding expenses to the expense approval workflow after X days.
Outstanding refers to expenses in an incomplete status (i.e., missing items such as receipts, spend categories, or memos) that are generated from corporate card activity (e.g., AMEX feed) or external card transactions uploaded in bulk. - Mark expenses that are forcefully sent to the approval flow (see item #3) as personal and automatically classify them as non-reimbursable.
Note: Another clawback option is to offset future payments by requesting negative-value reimbursement submissions.
