What are Webhooks?
Webhooks is a mechanism that allows one platform to receive real-time notifications from another. Customers MAY use webhooks notifications sent from the Mesh platform to automate workflows and integrate with external systems.
Setting Up the Mesh Webhooks Integration
Follow these steps to configure Mesh webhooks:
- Log in to the Mesh platform with a strong user account (e.g., an Admin profile or an Employee profile with Tech Admin permissions for the Mesh Integration Portal).
- Navigate to the Company Settings page.
- Scroll to the Integrations section and click Go to Integrations Portal.
- Open the Integrations Store by clicking Go to Integrations Store +, scroll to the Other section, and click + Connect.
- Enable the integration, enter the webhooks URL, select the events you want to send, and click Update.
- Customers MAY revisit the Integrations page at any time to update webhooks settings.
Behavior of Enabled Webhooks
When the webhooks integration is enabled, Mesh WILL send a payload to the specified URL whenever a selected event occurs. For example, Mesh will send an event payload when a card charge (i.e., a transaction) is processed.
Using Webhooks for Automation
Webhook payloads can be consumed by third-party automation services. These services MAY process the event and generate outputs such as emails, spreadsheets, or notifications that can then be delivered to other platforms.
For example, when a card charge event occurs, an automation platform could receive the Mesh payload and automatically create an entry in an Excel sheet or send an email notification.
Here is an example of automation websites that can process the payload sent from the Mesh platfrom and take an action such as generating spreadsheet based on these evens.
