Follow the steps below to integrate Mesh to Microsoft Dynamics Business Central, your cloud-based accounting software.
1. Navigate to Azure portal Home >> App registrations >> All applications >> 'Your app' and retrieve the following:
- Directory (tenant) ID
- Application (client) ID
- Client Secret
2. Obtain a Mesh extension and install it in your Business Central environment.
3. Log into your Mesh account with a user that has permissions to the 'Integration Store'. Navigate to Company Settings >> Integrations >> Manage Integrations >> 'Go to Integration Store'.
4. Scroll the Accounting section.
5. Look for the Business Central tile and click the + Connect button.
6. Enable the integration.
7. Enter the the following details and click the Authenticate button.
- Tenant ID = Directory (tenant) ID
- Client ID = Application (client) ID
- Client Secret
- Environment
8. Wait for a successful Authentication message. If you are redirected to the integrations page, click the Edit of the Business Central integration.
9. Scroll to the General Ledgers section and click the Connect button.
10. Select the relevant entity and click the Next button.
11. In the next step, add a Mesh bank account.
11.1 You can add a new one ...
11.2 or select one that was added previously.
Note: If the BC company currency differs from the Mesh bank currency, you MUST create a clearing account. Contact our team at support@meshpayments.com for more info.
11.3 Select the Daily Journal option in the next section.
11.4 Click the Next button to continue.
11.5 Review the summary page and click the Save button to store the details.
11.6 Make sure the data was saved correctly. You can come back to this page/section and click Update to modify the data.
12. Scroll to the Dimensions section and click the Connect button.
Note: There is NO need to create custom fields manually prior to this step as they will be generated automatically after this step. Before proceeding with this step, verify that the custom fields you intend to create are not already in use. If they are, an error message will appear. In that case, either rename the custom fields or choose alternative names in this step.
13. Toggle the relevant dimensions and type the Mesh Custom Field that you want to create for each.
14. Make sure it was saved properly.
Note: You can add more dimensions later. To add a dimensions please navigate back to this page, scroll down to the Dimensions section, click Add dimension and proceed with selecting more.
15. Test the integration.
15.1 Sync a single transaction.
15.1.1 Prior to syncing make sure that the transaction includes all relevant data including, spend category, memo, receipt and relevant Business Central tags.
15.1.2 Navigate to the 'Transactions' page, click the 3-dots next to a 'Transactions' and then click the 'Sync To Microsoft Dynamics' link.
15.2 Sync multiple transactions.
15.2.1 prior to syncing make sure that the transaction includes all relevant data including, spend category, memo, receipt and relevant Xero tags.
15.2.2 Navigate to the 'Transactions' page, check all the relevant transactions that you want to sync then navigate to the upper right slide, click the 3-dots, then 'Microsoft Dynamics' and finally 'Sync To Microsoft Dynamics' link.
Notes:
- On the 'Transactions' page, review the 'Last Sync Date' and 'Integration' columns to confirm the sync date and the success status of the operation. If a sync error message appears, contact our team at support@meshpayments.com.
- It is possible to sync data from the Accounting page.
