Follow the steps below to integrate Mesh to Unanet AE, your cloud-based accounting software.
1. Unnaet AE setup:
1.1 Navigate your Unanet AE portal and gather the following:
- Hostname
- Database
- API Key
- Funding Account
- Mesh Account
- Accounts Payable for Purchase
- Accounts Payable for Employees Reimbursable data ...
1.2 The API call that retrieves data from Unanet AE into the Mesh custom fields is executed based on the email address of the requesting user. Therefore, you MUST ensure that the corresponding users are created in the Unanet AE platform with the appropriate permissions assigned.
2. Log into your Mesh account with a user that has permissions to the 'Custom Fields'. Navigate to Company Settings >> Custom Fields and create the following custom fields : Vendor, Project, Expense Code, GL Account, and Sync Transactions As.
Notes:
- Vendor, Project, Expense Code, GL Account should be set as Async Drop Down.
- Sync Transactions As needs to be set as a Botton Group.
- Expense Codes needs a parent field of Project.
- GL account needs to the parent of Project AND Expense Code.
3. Log into your Mesh account with a user that has permissions to the 'Integration Store'. Navigate to Company Settings >> Integrations >> Manage Integrations >> 'Go to Integration Store'.
4. Scroll the Accounting section.
5. Look for the Unanet AE tile and click the + Connect button.
6. Enable the integration.
7. Enter the Hostname, Database, and API Key obtained from your Unanet AE platform.
8. Add the Funding Account, Mesh Account, Accounts Payable for Purchase and Accounts Payable for Employees Reimbursable data
9. Configure the Indexes section.
10. Configure the Account logic section.
11. Click Save to store the configuration. Wait for a success Integration update message.
Note: You can return to this menu at any point in time to make any necessary changes.
12. Test the integration.
12.1 Sync a single transaction.
12.1.1 Prior to syncing make sure that the transaction includes all relevant data including, spend category, memo, receipt and relevant Business Central tags.
Note: Since the custom fields have hierarchical dependencies, you MUST first select the Project. After that, you SHOULD select the Expense Code, followed by the Account GL.
12.1.2 Navigate to the 'Transactions' page, click the 3-dots next to a 'Transactions' and then click the 'Unanet AE' link.
12.2 Sync multiple transactions.
12.2.1 prior to syncing make sure that the transaction includes all relevant data including, spend category, memo, receipt and relevant Xero tags.
12.2.2 Navigate to the 'Transactions' page, check all the relevant transactions that you want to sync then navigate to the upper right slide, click the 3-dots, then 'Unanet AE' and finally 'Unanet AE' link.
Notes:
- On the 'Transactions' page, review the 'Last Sync Date' and 'Integration' columns to confirm the sync date and the success status of the operation. If a sync error message appears, contact our team at support@meshpayments.com.
- It is possible to sync data from the Accounting page.
